Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced that it will serve as the title sponsor of the 3rd Annual World Diversity Leadership Summit being held June 4 - 6 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. Both previous summits were held in the Czech Republic capital of Prague.
This year's theme "Globalization and Diversity: Unleashing the Power of Diverse Workers, Suppliers and Customers," is especially significant to Hilton Hotels Corporation having once again become a global company by acquiring UK-based Hilton International in 2006, thus re-unifying the Hilton brand for the first time in more than 40 years.
The three day conference will hone in on the global aspect of diversity in education, supply chains, major city populations, sports, academia and bottom line impact for global corporations. The summit will conclude with a roundtable wherein a distinguished group of multinational chief executive officers will discuss their views on global diversity and how it fits into their companies' challenges, goals and strategies.
"Hilton is proud to serve as title sponsor of the World Diversity Leadership Summit," said William Holland, vice president - workforce planning and analysis for Hilton Hotels Corporation. "We are committed to respecting diverse cultures throughout our international reach, and as responsible corporate citizens, we must address the local needs of the diverse communities where we live, work and serve around the world. That includes supporting forums that educate others to do the same."
Hilton has continuously demonstrated its commitment to building a company that reflects the communities in which it serves by building a more diverse workforce, increasing the number of minority suppliers and franchise holders, and incorporating diversity principles into all aspects of our business operations, including training and mentoring, advertising, marketing, community relations and management performance measurements.
