In 2005, Adecco USA began expanding its diversity efforts in new directions. While diversity had always played an integral role in Adecco’s work environment, the global contingent staffing company was looking for ways to leverage diversity both internally and externally to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
Adecco discovered that the strong diversity of its own workforce and its ability to provide a very diverse selection of talent for its customers differentiated it from rival staffing firms and gave it a significant edge when competing in a Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
However, this critical insight would not have had a significant impact on the company’s bottom-line if it had remained solely in the minds of a handful of Adecco executives. It became immediately clear that people throughout the company needed to realize the tremendous potential for diversity to drive profit and learn actionable, effective strategies to tap potential talent.
Virtcom advised Adecco and worked closely with its Diversity Department to help develop a diversity profit generation training program for its sales force. The customized training program was initially launched with over 100 of Adecco’s top sales executives throughout the United States. Recently, this initiative played a substantial role in helping Adecco win two major contracts.
